چکیده
Aim: The great majority of people suffer from headaches. Neuroimaging has a very limited role in determining the etiology headache However, neuroimaging, especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is requested for vast patients with headache. We aimed to determine frequency clinically significant and nonsignificant findings on brain MRI headache, factors associated these findings.
Material Method: A total 350 (231 women 119 men), who underwent examinations complaints, were included study. Based evaluation lesions detected characteristics together, classified as findings, unrelated findings. Patients compared terms basis age, gender, duration complaints.
Results: Assessment MRIs revealed normal 211 (60.3%) patients, 122 (34.8%) that could cause 17 (4.9%) patients. most common acute sinusitis, cerebrovascular accident, cerebral venous sinus thrombosis aneurysm. In over 65 years was significantly higher (p:0.001). male less than one month, but there no statistical difference (p:0.452 p:0477).
Conclusion: found approximately 5% Being old onset increase probability detecting MRI. Despite its low diagnostic value, physicians will often refer headaches neuroimaging fear missing critical underlying lesion encountering medico-legal issues. Taking into account worrying red flags can likelihood finding lesions.
